I'm a student in organic chemistry, and any given qualitative test video shows one positive and one negative result for a sample - then we are given a table full of test results for other sample's test results. It would be helpful to see in real time the FULL experiment we are unable to do in the lab on video, instead of copying and pasting test results from a .pdf into the lab report. I've spent my entire semester just copying and pasting things back and forth instead of seeing any actual experiment occur and analyzing the results - I feel like I've been cheating off of someone's work all semester instead of actually learning beyond what color a positive/negative test for any given test would yield.
By showing the experiment in full - not just a one off example of the kind of qualitative test - the students could pause, gather the data from the video as if they were doing the experiment themselves and fill in the lab report correspondingly.
This would develop critical thinking, observation, and analysis skills far better than the way this system is now.
