Rarely... departments using the university writing assistant program on campus (typically undergraduate writing coaches) to have students submit lab reports drafts to a writing coach, get feedback, then resubmit the report to be given a final grade. Would take a special role of "lab report writing coach" for making comments but not able to see grades etc.
Adelphi University organic is one potential customer (and the only one I know of).
