So I have used several LMS and homework systems.I find the navigation on labflow not intuitive slender left slider, hard to page down, not clear where items are located--extensions, grades, key to the symbols.These would greatly improve my experience.

Agreed. We are addressing the user experience this spring.
I agree 100%. The user experience is greatly impacted by the awful layout.
