Especially in a semester when we have two labs going for two weeks - one online and one in person - I should not have to wait until the end of the whole two weeks to grade, which is what I have to do if I don't want students to see my comments while the lab is still open for others to do. If I grade early, which is better for me, this amounts to making the key available if students think to go look, which they can then share with other students who are still doing the lab. I keep being told that students don't really do go back and look, so if we do grade early, they probably won't notice, but with around 1000 students in our labs, how long do you really think it would take for someone to figure it out.
